A structure fire broke out on 2nd and Hill streets in Louisville, Kentucky, on Wednesday afternoon.
At least one firefighter was injured as the room of the one of the buildings collapsed, local CBS affiliate WLKY reported. The Louisville fire department confirmed that at least two buildings are on fire, currently.
Louisville Fire Department shared visuals of the fire on their X handle. Additionally, local residents and news outlets also shared videos from the scene of the fire. It showed gray-white smoke coming out of the area.
The Louisville Fire Department also shared a photo of the fire. It appeared to show a multi-engine response in what appeared to be a residential area. It is unclear if anyone other than the firefighter was injured in the incident.
The intersection is around South 2nd Street and Hill Street is located in the historic Old Louisville neighborhood.
The area is close to the University of Louisville campus and roughly 1–2 miles south of downtown. It is a largely residential area characterized by Old Louisville's historic homes and multi-family buildings.
